This is the very first bottle of wine I found with my last name on it. I was faintly aware of the Languedoc region and even less so of its wine production at the time, but not to the extent I know now. This was also the first rosé I ever had (I’ve never even heard of rosé wines until I had this one). Not to mention the bottle itself is quite gorgeous... as is expected with something with “Languedoc” attached to it... like myself (especially myself).

This wine has a very sweet and light aroma to it; scents of berries and flowers will fill your nostrils nicely and get you nostalgic for summer. This one is quite easy on the mouth upon initially tasting it. The initial taste is not overpowering and goes in the mouth quite nicely. There’s a nice blend of very light summer fruits such as watermelon, pear, strawberry, and a hint of peach to name a few. The flavours are quite light; maybe a bit too light for some. There is a very slight citrusy and floral finish to it. You can get a nice light tingle of those summer fruits at the tail end, but again the lingering aftertaste is not too strong. A part of me does wish the flavours were a bit more distinct and noticeable in this one, but this one is incredibly smooth and light from start to end. It is not overpoweringly sweet or sugary like other rosés I’ve had. One thing I do really enjoy about this one is that it combines what I personally really enjoy about both red and white wines; the bolder flavours of a red and the sweetness of a white.

Rosés have definitely been growing on me, but I don’t think they’re as big here in Alberta compared to elsewhere. Hopefully that changes. I would gladly recommend giving this one to get a feel for what the rosé game is all about. It would be nice to sip on during the 3 or 4 actual days of summer Alberta gets.

Pairings: I’ve had this with lighter foods such as seafood and chicken, and with light snacks such as apples and cheese. The overall smoothness and lightness of this makes it fairly versatile to pear up with. It even matched well with my bacon wrapped scallops for dinner the other night!

This picture is basically a summary of my life in quarantine (minus my #NudeFitness pics)

Overall Rating: 3.5 Languedoc Crosses out of 5

I’ve seen this one at many liquor stores. Incredibly easy to come by. Liquorconnect.com lists over 321 stores where these can be found at (that site is where I get this info BTW... you can use it for other liquors outside of wine). Most Wine and Beyond I've been to have this.
