This wine had quite a citrusy and somewhat buttery scent to the nose. This one is also quite smooth on the senses when it tables into your taste buds. The body for this is surprisingly bold here, and there are quite a number of lovely flavours to this one that can be tasted. Oaky flavours such as butter and vanilla are primarily tasted, but there are quite a range of light and fresh fruity flavours such as green apple and pear can be distinguished to name a few. The flavours are not too sweet/acidic or too bold/heavy; they go together quite well. There are also a handful of citrusy flavours such as grapefruit and orange, especially at the tail end. The citrusy flavours are definitely light and do not overpower the remaining flavours; if anything they complement them quite nicely and give this wine a fairly decent finish as you finish that last sip. All of the flavours blend quite nicely from start to finish.
There’s not a lot for me to insult or criticize with this one. There are a lot of flavours to enjoy, but some may find them not sweet or distinct enough. I would definitely recommend giving this one a try, especially if you like generally smooth whites with enough flavours to enjoy (haven’t tried enough Chardonnays to say it’s the best Chardonnay out there, but it probably is cause it was made in Languedoc). If you like Chardonnays, please give this one a shout and let me know how this fares in comparison!
Pairings: The overall smoothness of this one makes this one versatile to pair up with. Seafood, pasta, poultry, and vegetarian dishes are what are officially recommended (as with most whites from what I gather), but this one went very well with my seafood fettuccine Alfredo and some homemade nachos I made over the long weekend. Either way, you must admit I’m seriously getting too drunk during these reviews to actually distinguish the complementary taste with each wine and food and make ridiculous recommendations really good at food and wine pairings now a days!

Seafood (shrimp and scallops) fettuccine Alfredo combined all of the great food recommendations this wine suggested #nomnom

Some homemade nachos made with lean ground beef, black olives, jalapenos, tex mex cheddar cheese, and hot sauce paired quite well #nomnom #JustLearnedHashtagsWorkOnThisSite

I saw this wine at the St Albert Wine & Beyond the last time I visited there several weeks ago Not sure why LiquorConnect.com doesn't list them too. Maybe all the wine stores from Calgary decided to rob that location and hoard them for themselves. Greedy.
