Domaine de Bellemare was the first winery I visited in Languedoc. I had tasted their Picpoul de Pinet (my favorite), their Duo Rose, and their Languedoc AOP Rouge. All I quite enjoyed, but unfortunately these were unavailable to order from them when I returned (I may have cleared out the remaining supply of Picpoul de Pinet at the Windermere Wine & Beyond store) though. Fortunately I was able to order a case of these reds to hopefully satisfy my thirst in the meantime.
This wine has light aromas of red fruits such as raspberry, pomegranate, and cherry. The initial taste of this wine is a bit on the acidic side, but the body is much lighter in comparison to most other reds. You can definitely get a light taste of those red fruits and berries once the initial acidity taste simmers down. While there is not too much of a lingering aftertaste to this wine, there is a surprisingly smooth finish to it and you can still get a hint of those summer fruit tastes.
Overall, there are not too many strong flavours to this wine, but it is incredibly smooth for a red and goes down quite nicely and easily (maybe too easily... I finished more than half the bottle while I was trying to analyze all the flavours and textures for this review). I think people who prefer a smoother wine would probably really enjoy this one. It would go nice on a hot summer day. Not sure I’d recommend it to those who like deep, rich, and distinct flavours to their wines. This one compared quite decently to the AOP red I had during my visit at Domaine de Bellemare. I'd go as far as say this wine was quite on par with most wines I had with each of my meals while in France.
Pairings: This one goes good with meats. I had it with my barbequed pork loin, and it tasted great! It also went down nicely with some beef and cheddar tequitos.

BBQ pork loin, green peas, and sweet potatoe fries. This wine complimented my dish well!

Online banking is not complete without a glass of this wine and some beef & cheddar tequitos
